A law firm seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its team in Tarzana, CA. This role involves representing clients in workplace injury claims, ensuring compliance with workers' compensation laws, and advocating for clients in hearings and negotiations. Duties:

  • Manage workers' compensation cases from initial filing through resolution.

  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights under California workers' compensation laws.

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and advocacy letters.

  • Represent clients in hearings before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) and other legal proceedings.

  • Conduct legal research and collaborate with medical professionals and expert witnesses.

  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.

  • Keep clients informed with regular case updates and developments.

  • Assist clients with navigating medical evaluations, including PQME panels and AME & PQME exams.

Requirements:

  • Experience in workers' compensation law is preferred (minimum of 2 years is ideal).

  • Strong legal research, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality client service.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar (Required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting case research.

  • Strong oral and written advocacy skills.

  • Ability to build strong client relationships and provide clear legal guidance.

  • Knowledge of California workers' compensation procedures and legal processes.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and evaluations related to workers' compensation claims.
