A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its dynamic team. This role will involve managing complex business disputes and providing strategic legal counsel to clients in various industries. The candidate should be highly motivated, capable of handling multiple aspects of trial preparation, and have a proven track record in managing discovery processes. Local bar admission is required.

Job Duties:

• Handle a diverse caseload of complex business litigation matters, including contract disputes, corporate governance issues, and commercial torts.
• Draft and file motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law to support litigation strategies.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests, responding to discovery, and taking and defending depositions.
• Prepare for trial by conducting witness interviews, preparing exhibits, and assisting in trial strategy.
• Argue motions and participate in hearings in both state and federal courts.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on litigation risks and strategies.
• Collaborate with senior partners and other team members on case management and trial preparation.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in business litigation.
• Attend client meetings, conferences, and industry-related events.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in business litigation at a large law firm or civil litigation boutique.
• Proven experience handling discovery, depositions, and other trial preparation activities.
• Strong oral and written advocacy skills.
• Ability to handle a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Experience in federal and state court litigation.
• Familiarity with commercial and corporate litigation matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic credentials (top-tier law school preferred).

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar is required.
• Admission to practice before federal courts in California is a plus.

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in litigation software and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
