Duties:

• Review new case assignments to develop litigation strategy, budget projections, and recommendations

• Analyze and determine necessary pleadings, assigning tasks to support staff where appropriate

• Draft and respond to discovery, manage production, and filings

• Participate in depositions, hearings, and similar proceedings, delivering timely summaries and updates

• Lead settlement negotiations, secure case authority, and prepare for trial as needed

• Maintain open and frequent communication with paralegals and legal assistants throughout the case lifecycle

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of legal experience, preferably in Workers’ Compensation or related litigation

• Active license to practice law in North Carolina

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters efficiently with minimal oversight

• Strong organizational skills and close attention to procedural and factual detail

• Capable of working effectively in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar Admission in North Carolina (mandatory)

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and client service capabilities

• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite; openness to legal tech platforms and database tools

• Strong written and verbal advocacy

• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset
