Duties

• Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony cases in state and/or federal court.
• Manage cases from initial appearance through trial and post-disposition.
• Conduct client consultations and develop defense strategies.
• Draft and file legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
• Perform legal research and factual investigations.
• Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors.
• Advocate at bond hearings, motions hearings, and trials.
• Prepare witnesses and clients for hearings and trials.
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding case status.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and case managers.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing in MO (TX, KS, IL a plus).
• 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense or comparable litigation.
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills.
• Excellent legal writing and research abilities.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced caseload independently.
• Commitment to ethical practice and client advocacy.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in MO (additional states a plus).
