SUMMARY:
Assist manager in overseeing a production line or area within the facility when the manager is absent for any reason. This can include monitoring the schedule for products as well as ensuring supplies and equipment are available to produce product. Perform daily product shows. Attend start up meetings with the General Supervisor. Understand crewing requirements and team member skills to assist in the proper movements of team members when necessary. Become familiar with all Pork Core Programs, Tyson Policies, Safety Programs and Procedures, Products Specifications, Medical Management Programs, team member retention efforts as well as behavioral expectations. Identify team member workmanship issues that result in poor quality or yield loss opportunity. Perform Eye for Detail audits. Conduct camera audits according to the OIC Program. Strong working knowledge of our safety/ergo programs. To the point they clearly understand our philosophies and expectations. They must learn how to deal with difficult team members and language barriers. As needed, participate in Supervisor counseling sessions with team members. Must be able to effectively communicate all issues minor or severe in a precise and clean manner to team members and management. A Lead may only work the production line with the approval by the Plant Superintendent or Operations Manager. Lead Person must be able and willing to work any shift if necessary.
Position involves walking/standing must be able to get to all areas of the plant for audits and inspections including using fixed ladders, stairs and steps, bending and stooping. Pushing/pulling may be required depending on which individual line job is being performed. Environmental condition temperatures ccan range from minus 20° F (freezer) to over 100° F in the heat of the summer (Harvest Floor).
