Volunteer/internship - Trial Court Docent

Duties : Will coordinate with the school prior to the tour date, organize activities with the team of walk around docents and teachers, gather supplies and daily workload from Administrative staff, notify the Sheriffs with details of the tour and approximate number of students, review the daily workload for appropriate case eligibility, coordinate with courtroom staff to allow students to observe, set-up and clean up dark courtroom for mock trial, supervise students and ensure compliance with court policies. Greeting students and coordinating with teachers, engage with visiting students using trivia and history provided, supervise students and ensure compliance with court policies, walk around with students to observe courtrooms, must be able to stay on schedule and problem-solve, participate in a scripted mock trial, assist with copy work, special projects, and making follow up phone calls as necessary. Good interpersonal or communication and phone skills are essential.
