A law firm seeks a dedicated advocate to join its Carmel, IN office. This position involves guiding clients through complex disputes at both state and federal levels, requiring courtroom presence and collaborative leadership.

Duties

• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft persuasive motions, pleadings, and briefs

• Supervise and coordinate paralegals, law clerks, and support staff to ensure timely case progression

• Prepare and finalize legal documents and client correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Represent clients in court hearings and argue motions before judges and opposing counsel

• Collaborate with administrative personnel regarding client billing, scheduling, and project completion

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience advocating for clients in a law firm or comparable legal setting

• Aptitude for independent decision-making, public speaking, and problem-solving under pressure

• Ability to manage a heavy caseload with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong organizational skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite to prepare documents and track case-related information

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school required

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the Indiana State Bar

• Admission (or eligibility) to practice in additional jurisdictions (e.g., federal courts) preferred but not required
