Job Overview:
A well-established and respected law firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate or Of Counsel Attorney with at least seven years of litigation experience to join its Trial & Litigation Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes matters, including eminent domain cases, in a collaborative environment across multiple California offices. The position is ideal for attorneys with a passion for litigation strategy, constitutional law, and trial preparation.
Location:
Duties:
Handle complex litigation matters from inception through resolution
Develop and execute litigation strategies, including nuanced constitutional and land use arguments
Draft and argue dispositive and other law and motion matters in state and federal court
Take and defend depositions; conduct witness interviews
Assist in trial preparation, including developing evidence and trial strategy
Collaborate across offices and practice groups in a team-oriented setting
Represent public entities and private clients in high-profile disputes
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, including trial and law & motion practice
Demonstrated success in complex case strategy and execution
Experience with eminent domain and/or public entity representation (preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative legal team
Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-stakes matters
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Strong academic credentials required
Certifications:
Admission to the California State Bar (required)
Skills:
Outstanding legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
Strong oral advocacy and presentation skills
Experience building cases for trial, including fact development and legal argumentation
Familiarity with both state and federal litigation procedures
Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively
