A well-established immigration law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career attorney who is passionate about immigration law and eager to gain hands-on experience in both affirmative and defensive immigration matters. The role involves direct client representation, case management, and collaboration with a supportive team of legal professionals committed to delivering outstanding advocacy.
Duties:
Provide legal guidance to clients regarding immigration options and case strategy
Represent clients in Immigration Court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals
Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, and removal defense
Conduct legal intakes, including in-person visits to detention centers
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related matters
Prepare legal briefs, affidavits, and client testimony for court appearances and USCIS interviews
Conduct consultations to assess eligibility and recommend legal pathways
Assist clients and witnesses in preparing for hearings and interviews
Regularly monitor case progress and maintain organized documentation
Adjust and review prepared applications as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness
Requirements:
Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
0-3 years of experience in immigration law preferred
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness to collaborate in a team-driven environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active Bar membership in good standing (any state)
Skills:
Familiarity with EOIR, USCIS, and family-based immigration processes
Proficient in legal research and drafting
Experience with case management software preferred
Ability to analyze legal issues and devise effective case strategies
