Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in immigration and family law seeks a full-time Associate Attorney. This role offers hands-on legal experience and meaningful client interaction in a collaborative, small-firm setting. The position involves courtroom advocacy, legal drafting, and client counseling, with opportunities to appear before both state and federal immigration forums. Training and mentorship will be provided, making this an excellent fit for newer attorneys eager to grow in a practice devoted to family-based immigration, removal defense, and humanitarian relief.

Duties:

• Represent clients before the California State Court in matters such as guardianship and child custody

• Handle appearances before the Immigration Court (EOIR) and USCIS

• Meet directly with clients to assess legal needs and offer counsel

• Prepare clients for interviews and hearings

• Review casework prepared by legal assistants

• Draft legal motions, briefs, and memoranda

• Maintain compliance with relevant court and agency procedures

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of California

• Strong written and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to handle a diverse caseload with organization and independence

• Willingness to learn and receive mentorship

• Availability for in-person work in downtown Los Angeles

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Legal research and drafting proficiency

• Effective courtroom communication

• Compassionate client service and interpersonal skills

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
