Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. This position provides an exciting opportunity for an attorney with insurance coverage and litigation experience to work alongside a collaborative and highly skilled team. The role includes handling complex coverage matters across various insurance lines for both domestic and foreign insurers, with flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements available.
Location:

Duties:
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
Investigate claims and prepare comprehensive coverage opinion letters
Draft pleadings, motions, and manage discovery in coverage litigation matters
Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a wide range of issues
Collaborate across departments and offices to maintain a cohesive team approach
Communicate with clients and provide regular status updates
Requirements:
2–8 years of defense litigation experience
Minimum of 1 year handling insurance coverage and/or coverage litigation matters
Experience drafting coverage opinions across various insurance lines (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, intellectual property, etc.)
Familiarity with both third-party and first-party claims
Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions
Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses preferred
Trial experience considered a plus
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to practice law in the State of California
Skills:
Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities
Deep understanding of insurance law and coverage analysis
Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
