Corporate Litigation Manager - Corporate Risk Management

The candidate will proactively monitor complex claims and give updates to Risk Management and other contacts. Provide consult and make recommendations on claims and/or legal matters (act as a claims legal resource). Work cooperatively with the claims team and Enterprise personnel to obtain necessary information. Identify issues and obtain/evaluate the necessary information to develop strategies for claims/litigation resolution. Identify and make recommendations on necessary investigative steps. Evaluate damages/exposure and determine coverage and liability to make recommendations and provide guidance to claim handlers. Determine appropriate settlement values and develop a negotiation strategy to provide guidance to claim handlers. Participate in active negotiations as warranted. Work with vendors and/or outside counsel to assist with providing clear direction and monitor any requested services. Participate in depositions (inclusive of employee deposition preparation and training of outside defense counsel), trials, mediations and other hearings/appearances, etc. Assist in the development and facilitation of various litigation/claims training for in-house claims employees. Guide and train in-house and external claim handlers on the management of defense attorneys and legal strategy, selection and maintenance of approved counsel and legal expert panels and effective litigation cost containment strategies.
