Corporate Policy and Data Privacy Coordinator
The candidate responsibilities will include: Manage the policy lifecycle within the Convergepoint software platform, including the review, approval, distribution, and retirement processes. Work with subject matter experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of documentation requirements, and apply those requirements to create initial drafts of policies, procedures and supporting documents such as standard operating procedures, job aids, and forms. Ensure policy documentation is consistent with GIA templates, guidelines and styles and is appropriate for its intended audience. Plans, develops, implements and revises policies and procedures throughout every hospital department.Apply substantive knowledge to review, interpret, and make recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance for domestic and global locations. Review procedures and other supporting documentation for alignment with other corporate policies and notify director of any conflict or discrepancy. Act as a resource for policy and procedure inquiries from employees and redirect inquiries to management as appropriate. Assist in the creation of informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement. Assist in conducting insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues. Contribute to the implementation of the privacy program initiatives and subsequent monitoring. Assist with revisions to the privacy program initiatives in light of changes in laws or regulations. Contribute to privacy training and awareness program development; assist in the development and presentation of privacy trainings and monitoring completion. Provide high-level administrative support regarding the privacy of, and access to, company-related information, including information that concerns employees, clients, students, vendors, and others. Other duties as assigned. Act as the key point of contact for GIA’s Records Management and Retention Program. Maintain global Records Retention Schedule and update schedule as laws and regulations change. Assist in creation of annual records destruction reporting for records controllers and steering committee. Assist in coordinating California and New York campus departmental requests for physical records from/to offsite storage facilities. Assist departments in accurate completion of record submission form. Other duties as assigned. Must have advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and SharePoint. Experience in data and process flow mapping required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Paralegal Certificate preferred. Should have 3+ years of experience working in policies, privacy or aligned field. Experience working in regulatory or auditing is a plus.
