Job Overview:
A law firm based in Houston, TX, is actively seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join a dynamic team focused on removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief. This role offers the chance to manage a diverse caseload, engage directly with clients, and collaborate with experienced attorneys and support staff in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and strategic planning for immigration matters

• Represent both detained and non-detained clients before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Prepare and file applications related to removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief

• Conduct legal intakes at detention facilities and advocate for clients in custody

• Draft and submit legal briefs and client affidavits

• Review and refine application packets for submission to government agencies

• Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court appearances

• Coordinate with community organizations, prosecutors, and law enforcement on legal matters

• Conduct client consultations and develop tailored case strategies

• Monitor and manage assigned caseload efficiently

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-4 years of hands-on immigration law experience

• Proven ability to independently manage cases and advocate for clients

• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with legal team members

• High-level written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated experience with EOIR, family-based, humanitarian, and naturalization filings

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred

• Familiarity with legal case management systems is advantageous

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Admission to the Bar in any U.S. state (Texas license preferred)

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction)
