Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Public Finance Career Associate Attorney with 2 to 4 years of relevant transactional or finance experience. Duties:
Advise on tax-exempt and taxable financings, including municipal bonds and notes
Support transactions related to public infrastructure, nonprofit institutions, and for-profit utility projects
Assist with public-private partnerships, tribal financings, and structured financial products
Draft and review financing documents and disclosure materials
Provide counsel on matters involving IRS audits, SEC investigations, and regulatory enforcement
Engage in secondary market transactions, such as tender option bonds and securitizations
Participate in bankruptcy-related restructurings and financial workouts
Requirements:
2–4 years of experience in public finance, securities, or transactional law
Strong interest in finance, public infrastructure, or governmental and nonprofit sectors
Ability to thrive in a career-track (non-partner) attorney position with long-term focus
Capability to manage complex legal work while maintaining flexible or reduced time commitments
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in West Virginia or other state of residence, or eligibility to waive in
Skills:
Excellent legal writing, document drafting, and communication abilities
Strong analytical and research capabilities
High attention to detail and sound judgment
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments effectively
