Duties:

  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, such as trials, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to provide sound legal advice.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and contracts.
  • Maintain and manage client files, ensuring confidentiality and organization.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to develop case strategies.
  • Attend client meetings and effectively communicate legal advice and updates.
  • Keep abreast of legal developments, regulations, and case law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the New Mexico State Bar or eligibility for immediate admission.
  • 2+ years of legal experience, with a preference for wrongful death, medical malpractice, Indigenous law, or civil rights cases.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to serving clients' best interests.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to professional development.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Certifications (if applicable):

  • New Mexico State Bar membership or eligibility for immediate admission.
