Duties

• Defend and advocate for clients in general liability, commercial litigation, and related areas.
• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, and pleadings.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and prepare for trials.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense.
• Admitted to practice in the state of TN; additional state admissions are a plus.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent client interaction skills and telephone manner.
• Experience in negotiations and mediations.
• Solid research and communication skills.
• Courtroom experience and a desire to grow as a trial attorney.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in Tennessee.
