The candidate will work closely with the attorneys in the transaction group in support of the work we do for our clients. Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; follow instructions; complete tasks on time; work independently. Should have 2+ years prior legal assistant, paralegal, or comparable experience in business and real estate transactions. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and legal processes; excellent attention to detail; strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, e-Filing, and database software; ability and desire to handle and complete assignments; organized self-starter; able to prioritize and handle busy workloads and deadlines; able to remain flexible and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow. Proactively apply problem-solving skills. Client contact, on the telephone and in person. Title and survey review. Preparation of real estate forms and other legal documents. Filing documents as appropriate with various state and county authorities. Regularly anticipates the needs of assigned attorneys to promote timekeeper efficiencies (i.e., drafts correspondence, and prepares probate documents in advance). Assists attorneys with completing and tracking CLE compliance, presentations and training programs, other business development activities, and organizing all other non-billable activities. Finalize documents for execution and proofread all documents independently and effectively to ensure accuracy and completeness. Document creation with lawyer support, proofreading, and revising documents. General support as needed for the transactional team. Maintain and organize files in an orderly manner. Effectively manage and monitor calendaring of deadlines and key dates.
