Part-Time Legal Consultant
The candidate will be providing direct services to a caseload of 10-15 indigent clients. Will be negotiating with agencies to change policies impacting our immigrant or incarcerated community members. Drafting “Know Your Rights” materials plus conducting trainings for community members and service providers. Supervising legal interns. Collaborating with SRLP’s Movement Building Team by submitting writs of habeas corpus for incarcerated members, coordinating legal observing for actions, attending their various events for members, conducting research to assist campaigns. Work directly with Director of Client Services to conduct SRLP’s intake clinic as well as return calls, emails, and other inquiries from community members. Supporting the Director of Client Services in developing firm’s Legal Hotline.
