Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate to join its Real Estate Finance Practice Group in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have two to six years of experience in real estate finance, including loan origination and asset management.

Duties

• Manage loan origination for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions.
• Handle mezzanine loans and preferred equity transactions.
• Oversee asset management and workout processes.
• Run transactions from inception through closing and post-closing.
• Engage in secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Requirements

• Two to six years of broad real estate finance experience.
• Experience in large law firm settings preferred.
• Superb writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage transactions independently.
• Ambition and team orientation to support practice growth.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice.
