Job Overview

A law firm seeks a licensed Associate Attorney with over two years of experience in Professional Liability for its Chicago, Illinois office. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Medical and Dental Malpractice and long-term care defense, handling cases primarily in Cook County and surrounding areas.

Duties

• Conduct thorough research, analysis, and interpretation of legal sources, including statutes, regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
• Monitor case files to ensure compliance with deadlines, and investigate facts and legal issues to develop appropriate defenses and strategies.
• Assist with document review and analysis.
• Conduct depositions and appear regularly in court.
• Support trial preparation and participate in the trial of professional liability cases.
• Adhere to and follow client guidelines meticulously.
• Communicate effectively and report appropriately to clients.

Requirements

• Good standing with the Illinois bar.
• Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Deposition experience preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
