Job Overview

A reputable law firm in Chattanooga, Tennessee is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Business Litigation Practice Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney to gain hands-on litigation experience across a broad spectrum of corporate matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong research, writing, and case management skills and be comfortable managing litigation from inception through trial under the guidance of senior attorneys.

Location

• Chattanooga, Tennessee

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials

• Meet with clients to discuss case strategy and execute legal service agreements

• Assist in fact development and manage document production

• Provide support for both bench and jury trials

• Maintain direct communication with clients regarding case updates

• Collaborate closely with members of the litigation team on all phases of case management

• Ensure compliance with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

Requirements

• 1–5 years of civil litigation experience

• Demonstrated ability to manage cases from start to finish

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team

• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple matters simultaneously

• Willingness to take initiative and provide proactive legal support

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic record preferred (Top 15% ideal)

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Tennessee preferred

• Candidates eligible or willing to seek admission to the Tennessee Bar will also be considered

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research and document drafting
