A prestigious law firm is seeking a USPTO-registered Patent Prosecution Team Attorney with a strong background in software-related technologies. The successful candidate will have significant experience in patent prosecution and a technical degree relevant to the role. Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute U.S. patent applications in software and computer-related technologies

  • Counsel clients on portfolio strategy and IP protection

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals on patent prosecution matters

  • Conduct legal research related to patentability, freedom-to-operate, and invalidity

  • Review and revise patent documents, claims, and drawings

  • Support clients in USPTO proceedings as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in patent prosecution

  • Must be registered to practice before the USPTO

  • Experience with technologies including cloud computing, cybersecurity/encryption, AI, bioinformatics, mobile applications, databases, and networking preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to be based in or relocate to a listed office location

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in one of the following fields:

    • Computer Science

    • Computer Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Mathematics

    • Physics

    • Or a closely related technical field

Certifications:

  • USPTO Registration Number (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Technical proficiency in software-related disciplines

  • Legal writing and patent drafting expertise

  • Client-facing communication and counseling skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple patent portfolios effectively
