A law firm seeks an associate with three years of experience to join their Technology Transactions team in Wheeling. This role offers the opportunity to work with experienced advisors, supporting life sciences and tech companies in shaping their intellectual property strategies and facilitating key agreements.

Duties

• Contribute to drafting, reviewing, and negotiating collaboration, partnering, and licensing agreements.
• Assist with drafting and negotiating foundational agreements for life sciences companies, such as university licenses and clinical trial agreements.
• Advise clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, and aspects of product research, development, and commercialization.
• Develop and implement intellectual property strategies for clients in innovation-driven technology sectors.
• Support the preparation and management of IP commercialization efforts.
• Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and digital health.
• Navigate IP and technology aspects of venture capital financings, public offerings, and M&A transactions.

Requirements

• Three years of legal experience in intellectual property transactions with a focus on life sciences.
• Interest in expanding practice to include tech transactions in AI, fintech, and other cutting-edge areas.
• Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) required; life sciences related education is a bonus.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in the state of the office location.
