Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing Construction Litigation Group in Orlando. This role offers a unique opportunity for a lateral associate with experience in construction litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial or construction litigation and be able to manage cases from start to finish, including handling various forms of dispute resolution and courtroom experience. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S.

Location:

• Orlando, FL

Duties:

• Handle commercial and construction litigation cases from start to finish

• Manage claims analysis, risk management, and large-scale infrastructure projects

• Prepare and argue dispositive motions

• Take and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses

• Participate in various forms of dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and trial

• Analyze complex case facts and apply applicable case and statutory law to develop case strategies

• Collaborate with the litigation team to achieve case objectives

• Assist in drafting legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of commercial or construction litigation experience

• Experience with dispositive motion practice and court hearings

• Strong deposition experience, preferably involving expert and fact witnesses

• Experience in various dispute resolution methods, including mediation, arbitration, and trial

• Ability to analyze complex case facts and statutes to develop effective case strategies

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases independently

• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and practical approach to litigation

• Must be admitted to and in good standing with the Florida Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

• Proven ability to manage complex litigation cases

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with legal technologies and case management tools
