Job Overview:
A law firm is currently seeking a talented and experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join its team in Orlando. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, handling a wide range of labor and employment matters for clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, a deep understanding of employment law, and the ability to provide strategic counsel to employers on various workplace issues.

Duties:

• Representing employers in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Department of Labor (DOL).

• Counseling employers on employment-related matters, including leave entitlements, wage and hour issues, hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, and workplace policies.

• Managing litigation processes, including responding to complaints, drafting discovery requests and responses, preparing dispositive motions, and drafting position statements.

• Handling wage and hour collective actions and class action litigation.

• Taking and defending depositions in both litigation and pre-litigation phases.

• Conducting legal research and analysis, providing recommendations, and drafting clear and concise legal documents.

• Collaborating effectively with clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders to deliver optimal legal solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law.

• Proven experience defending employers in federal and state court, as well as before regulatory agencies.

• Experience managing various aspects of litigation, including discovery, e-discovery, motion preparation, and trial support.

• Familiarity with class action litigation and wage and hour disputes.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in Florida.

Skills:

• Expertise in labor and employment law and litigation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
