A law firm seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their practice in Sarasota, Tampa, or St. Petersburg, FL. This role involves working on complex restructurings and insolvencies, including Chapter 11 and cross-border matters, while representing national and global clients across diverse industries.

Duties

• Represent clients in business bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings and related litigation.
• Counsel and advocate for creditors, investors, and other business entities in bankruptcy court.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies involving significant financial and operational risk.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, objections, and pleadings in bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
• Manage discovery, depositions, witness preparation, and court appearances.
• Advise clients on bankruptcy-related risks and restructuring options.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver strong business-focused outcomes.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the practice's growth.
• Participate in business development and professional networking.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in creditor-side bankruptcy, restructuring, or commercial litigation.
• Thorough understanding of bankruptcy courts and related legal proceedings.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation matters independently.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of attorneys and staff while maintaining confidentiality.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.

• Strategic judgment in state, federal district, and bankruptcy court proceedings.
