Duties:

  • Represent clients in defense construction litigation, focusing on Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
  • Handle contractual indemnification disputes between parties.
  • Conduct and manage Labor Law depositions.
  • Report to clients and insurance carriers regarding case progress and strategy.
  • Appear in court for conferences, motions, and hearings.
  • Ensure compliance with discovery requests and deadlines.
  • Take and defend depositions, coordinating medical examinations as needed.
  • Prepare, file, and argue motions before the court.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required; admission to New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in construction litigation, particularly defense work.
  • Proven track record of handling Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6) cases and contractual indemnification issues.
  • Strong deposition experience in Labor Law cases.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
  • Admission to the New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars (preferred).

Skills:

  • Expertise in construction litigation and Labor Law.
  • Strong litigation skills, including the ability to prepare and argue motions.
  • Proficiency in taking and defending depositions.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and carrier reporting.
  • Ability to manage case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
