Duties:

  • Conduct legal research by interviewing witnesses and reviewing case materials.
  • Take and defend depositions, participate in motion practice, and draft pleadings.

  • Analyze legal pleadings and discovery documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in preparing trial strategies.
  • Represent clients in court for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Travel as needed for court appearances and depositions.
  • Work closely with the trial team, assisting with case preparation and strategy.
  • Manage a large docket of cases, prioritizing tasks and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong interest in trial practice.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and client matters with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for taking on responsibility and growing within the firm.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Missouri Bar is required.
  • Additional licenses in Illinois or Kansas are preferred, but not required.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Experience with deposition and trial preparation.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills for client representation in court.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and depositions.
