The role requires in-office presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Duties

  • Assist with and lead aspects of U.S. trademark and copyright litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions practice, hearings, pretrial, and trial.
  • Handle TTAB proceedings, including oppositions and cancellations.
  • Draft pleadings and motions, conduct legal research, and assist with managing case strategy.
  • Manage document collection, review, and production.
  • Manage written discovery requests and responses.
  • Assist with depositions and deposition preparation.
  • Interface directly with clients, providing practical and business-minded advice on legal strategies and ongoing matters.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with an active Texas state bar license.
  • 3-5 years of civil litigation experience within a law firm setting, including some federal civil litigation experience.
  • Experience in trademark or copyright litigation is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent writing, research, and case management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and take ownership of client matters, while also thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be located within commuting distance of Austin, TX, or be willing to relocate.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Texas state bar license.
