Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic associate with 2-3 years of experience to join its Executive Compensation and Benefits Practice Group in San Francisco. The position offers flexibility in location, with the opportunity to work in the San Francisco office.

Duties

• Advise public and private employers on employee benefits and ERISA matters.
• Focus on retirement plan administration, health and welfare plan design, and compliance.
• Conduct ERISA fiduciary duty counseling and prohibited transaction analysis.
• Handle IRS and DOL audits, EPCRS submissions, and Form 5500 reporting.
• Review vendor agreements and address transaction-related benefits issues.
• Collaborate with attorneys to deliver exceptional client service.
• Communicate effectively with clients on sophisticated transactions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent; LLM considered in lieu of JD.
• Experience at an Am Law 100 firm preferred.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Understanding of professional ethics and conduct codes.
• Admission to and good standing with the bar in the practicing jurisdiction.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the practicing jurisdiction.
