Senior Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm located in Norfolk is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from seasoned attorneys while providing legal counsel to new and existing clients. The Senior Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for performing legal research, reviewing and drafting documents, and ensuring that all legal matters are handled professionally and efficiently. Strong legal research and writing skills are essential for this role. The candidate will handle hearings, depositions, discovery responses, and client meetings with minimal supervision but robust mentorship and guidance in state and federal courts.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to new and existing clients under the mentorship of seasoned attorneys
• Perform legal research and analysis on various legal issues
• Review and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Handle hearings, depositions, and client meetings with minimal supervision
• Ensure that all legal matters are handled in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
• Prioritize work and allocate resources efficiently
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff as needed
• Represent clients in state and federal courts as required

Requirements:

• Law degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia
• 5+ years of litigation experience
• Strong legal knowledge and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
