A law firm seeks a Patent Attorney to work remotely from California, Arizona, New York, or Hawaii. The firm specializes in patent preparation and prosecution, focusing on electrical engineering, circuits, computer science, computer networking, and semiconductors.

Duties

• Analyze patents and technical documents.
• Identify distinctions between inventions and prior publications.
• Draft arguments and responses to Patent Office communications.
• Meet with inventors to discuss new inventions.
• Draft patent applications for new inventions.
• Interface with foreign law firms to obtain international patents.
• Collaborate with in-house attorneys at client companies.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar field.
• Patent bar registration.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in California, Arizona, Hawaii, or New York.
• Coursework or experience with analog and digital circuits, RF circuitry, semiconductors, electromagnetism, optics, computer programming, and/or computer networking.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Patent bar registration.
• Active bar membership in California, Arizona, Hawaii, or New York.
