Senior Staff Attorney/Program Manager, Workers’ Rights Program

The candidate will represent vulnerable low-wage workers on wage and hour, race, national origin, and gender discrimination, NLRA, and other labor and employment cases in the administrative context. Provide legal support for worker-led and/or worker center-supported campaigns. Build, work in, and maintain strategic vital community partnerships to collaboratively address immigrant workers’ rights issues. Engage in public policy advocacy to advance pro-worker agenda on local, state, or federal levels. Build and litigate impact cases, including class actions, in state and federal court. Supervise and support the program’s direct services docket. Oversee the program’s community education and outreach efforts, including the development of Know-Your-Rights presentations and materials. Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach. Should have J.D. degree and California bar membership. Must have 5+ years related legal services or state/federal court litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, law and motion work, and discovery. Should have excellent research, analytical, written, and oral communication skills. Must have experience managing attorneys and program staff. Previous experience with coalition building, policy advocacy, and community-centered lawyering in the areas of immigrant rights and workers’ rights is essential.
