Manager of Intellectual Property Prosecution
Duties: Work closely with IP prosecution partners and Firm management to identify, implement, and enforce IP prosecution policies and procedures; implement strategic solutions; and delegate projects and duties as needed. Manage patent and trademark prosecution paralegals, including responsibility for onboarding and integrating, training on IP prosecution procedures, and providing feedback to ensure growth and development. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of workflows throughout the practice group. Combine that understanding with a detailed knowledge of IP prosecution rules and procedures, IP prosecution trends, evolving industry resources, best practices, and anticipation of and response to client needs to recommend efficient and risk managed workflows. Research new ideas, develop creative solutions and integrate competing views or approaches into a successful strategy to continually advance the IP prosecution practice group. Support management and mentoring of IP prosecution staff across all firm offices to drive awareness of Firm and practice group-specific strategies and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Collaborate throughout the firm, developing relationships and drawing on various centers of expertise to encourage a culture of innovation that yields continuous improvements. Establish trusting relationships with peers, attorneys, managers and staff, supported by ongoing communication and collaboration to provide seamless results; and responsible for developing, obtaining approval, and implementing standard operating procedures with respect to prosecuting patents and trademarks; Coordinate billing activities for the group; Interfacing with Docketing and IP prosecution paralegals to develop client reports.
