Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Jackson, MS, is seeking a driven Litigation Trial Attorney with significant courtroom experience to handle a high-volume caseload focused on premises liability. This position involves managing cases from initial intake through resolution, including leading trials, engaging directly with clients, and crafting litigation strategies. Duties:

• Handle a portfolio of approximately 150 active personal injury cases, including 50 in litigation monthly

• Conduct all stages of litigation, including depositions, discovery, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation

• Lead jury trials as first-chair counsel, developing and presenting persuasive legal arguments

• Maintain consistent, clear communication with clients throughout the legal process

• Collaborate with internal team members, including case managers and paralegals

• Develop strategic litigation plans tailored to individual case facts and client goals

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation or personal injury law; 5-8 years strongly preferred

• Must be an active member in good standing with the Mississippi State Bar

• Demonstrated record of leading at least 5 jury trials as first-chair attorney (10+ preferred)

• Ability to work independently and confidently in high-stakes courtroom environments

• Willingness to take cases to trial and comfort with all phases of litigation

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Mississippi State Bar

• Additional Bar admissions in other states are considered a plus

Skills:

• Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills

• Proficiency in legal writing and procedural rules

• Effective verbal communication with both legal teams and clients

• High attention to detail and case management efficiency
