A reputable law firm is actively seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney with 1 to 6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of estate planning, trust administration, and wealth preservation strategies. Location

• Hackensack, NJ

Duties

• Draft estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives

• Advise clients on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning

• Manage trust and estate administration, including probate matters and fiduciary accounting

• Work directly with fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial planners, and tax professionals

• Assist in structuring lifetime gifting strategies and wealth transfer vehicles

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on estate planning and tax law issues

• Prepare or review federal estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709)

• Collaborate with partners on complex wealth and legacy planning matters

Requirements

• 1 to 6 years of experience in trusts and estates law

• Demonstrated experience with high-net-worth estate planning and trust administration

• Familiarity with tax filings related to estates and trusts

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive client matters with discretion

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (state-specific licensure may be required based on office location)

• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred but not required)

Skills

• Strong legal drafting and research abilities

• Solid knowledge of federal and state estate and gift tax laws

• Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
