A reputable law firm is actively seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney with 1 to 6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of estate planning, trust administration, and wealth preservation strategies. Draft estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives
Advise clients on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning
Manage trust and estate administration, including probate matters and fiduciary accounting
Work directly with fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial planners, and tax professionals
Assist in structuring lifetime gifting strategies and wealth transfer vehicles
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on estate planning and tax law issues
Prepare or review federal estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709)
Collaborate with partners on complex wealth and legacy planning matters
1 to 6 years of experience in trusts and estates law
Demonstrated experience with high-net-worth estate planning and trust administration
Familiarity with tax filings related to estates and trusts
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive client matters with discretion
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (state-specific licensure may be required based on office location)
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred but not required)
Strong legal drafting and research abilities
Solid knowledge of federal and state estate and gift tax laws
Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
