Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with three or more years of experience to join their office in McLean, Virginia. The attorney will support active litigation in state and federal courts.

Duties

• Assist with all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Draft dispositive motions, discovery motions, and briefs.
• Manage court filings.
• Support case preparation for state and federal proceedings.
• Engage in direct client contact and manage discrete workstreams.
• Take and defend depositions with partner support.
• Argue motions commensurate with experience.
• Participate in second-chair trial opportunities.

Requirements

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Virginia State Bar license.
• Three or more years of litigation experience preferred.
• Experience preparing for federal and state court cases.
• Experience drafting and managing pleadings, briefs, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Education

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Virginia State Bar license.
