Of Counsel / Junior Partner

Profile

A law firm in Chicago is seeking an Of Counsel / Junior Partner specializing in Litigation to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in complex commercial and civil litigation, preferably from a multi-national large law firm background. They will join a team of trial lawyers and litigators representing matters in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and consumer products industries.

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of complex commercial litigation through trial.
• Draft pleadings and discovery requests, take and defend depositions.
• Conduct legal research and write persuasive motions, arguing them confidently before courts.
• Manage document production and handle all phases of discovery.
• Develop and implement winning litigation strategies through outstanding written and oral advocacy skills.
• Attend mediation, prepare mediation briefs, and negotiate favorable resolutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and experts to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
• Manage caseload, deadlines, and priorities with a driven and motivated work ethic.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in complex commercial and civil litigation.
• Strong complex commercial litigation experience from a multi-national large law firm.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong deposition skills and exceptional oral and written advocacy skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Admission and good standing with the Illinois Bar.
• Portable book of business is a plus.

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission and good standing with the Illinois Bar.
