A law firm seeks a litigation attorney to join as Senior Counsel in Walnut Creek, CA. The role involves managing complex insurance coverage litigation and providing strategic legal advice. The position is hybrid, based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Duties

• Oversee complex insurance coverage litigation and manage multiple cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct thorough analysis of insurance policies and coverage provisions.
• Provide strategic legal advice on insurance coverage issues and policy interpretation.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Defend cases in civil litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Attend court hearings and oral arguments both remotely and in-person.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare for and mediate cases and/or settlement conferences.
• Mentor junior associates and collaborate with legal staff.

Requirements

• Active California bar license.
• At least 5 years of litigation experience in state and/or federal courts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional writing, organizational, and advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Active California bar license.
