A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join their team in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will be a Virginia-licensed attorney with 1-5+ years of experience in real estate, foreclosure, and creditors’ rights law. Duties:

• Conduct detailed reviews of documentation related to Virginia foreclosures, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
• Communicate promptly and professionally with clients and courts.
• Attend court status hearings, mediations, and litigation proceedings.
• Manage a portfolio of title curative and litigation matters associated with VA foreclosures and other default-related issues.
• Prioritize and handle a portfolio of active files, ensuring legal actions meet clients’ timelines and expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day operations related to the Virginia foreclosure pre-sale, post-sale, and accounting processes.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in Virginia; additional licensure in Maryland is a plus.
• A strong motivation to support colleagues in solving client problems.
• High level of independence with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willingness to adapt to changes and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia.
