Profile

Andrews Law Firm PLLC is a small, established Lexington law firm focused on creditors' rights and related litigation throughout Kentucky. We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our practice.  We are open to candidates ranging from a newly licensed attorney to an attorney with approximately 1-3 years of experience.  Prior experience in creditors' rights, collections, foreclosure, bankruptcy or civil litigation is hlepful but not required.  We are willing to provide substanital training nad mentoring to the right person.  What matters most is finding someone who is smart, dependable, detail-oriented, personable and willing to learn.

This is a hands-on associate position in a busy, volume-based practice.  The attorney will grandually assume responsibility for a caseload and will work directly with the firm's owner, clients, courts, opposing counsel and an experienced support staff.

Responsbilities will include: managing collection and foreclosure matters from referral through resolution; drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence and other legal documents; attending court hearings throughout Kentucky; communicating wiht clients regarding case status and strategy; researching legal issues and learning the practical and business aspects of a high-volume creditors' rights practice.  

As the associate gains experience, the position will involve increasing independence and responsibility.

  • Can handle a busy workload without sacrificing accuracy or professionalism

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Kentucky Bar required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
  • Sound professional judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a close-knit team
  • Prior litigation or creditors’ rights experience is a plus, but not required
