Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including dissolution, custody, child support, modifications, and enforcement of orders.

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff in managing cases and preparing legal documents.

  • Utilize alternative dispute resolution methods when appropriate to resolve client issues.

  • Maintain strong, empathetic relationships with clients and provide effective legal advice and counsel.

  • Manage case progression and deadlines efficiently, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Represent clients in court hearings and other legal proceedings.

  • Conduct legal research and draft clear and persuasive legal documents.

  • Maintain case files and documentation by legal and firm standards.

  • Focus on personal and professional development, participating in ongoing legal education.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law practice, with a focus on dissolution, custody, and related proceedings.

  • Proven ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.

  • Member of the Oregon State Bar; admission in additional jurisdictions is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.

  • Proficiency with basic legal and business software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Oregon State Bar is required.
