Mid-Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney with a strong background in product liability defense work, particularly with medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer clients. The Mid-Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of legal tasks related to product liability defense work, including complex multi-district matters and individual cases. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, communication skills, and a dedicated interest and experience in this field.

Duties:

• Drafting pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions
• Preparing and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
• Taking and defending fact, party, and expert depositions
• Engaging in motion practice, including drafting and arguing motions in court
• Conducting court appearances and representing clients in hearings and other proceedings

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing litigator
• Experience in product liability defense work, particularly with medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer clients
• Former trial-level clerkships are a plus
• Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills
• A scientific background is a plus
• Entrepreneurial orientation is desirable

Certifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Skills:

• Proficiency in product liability defense work
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to handle complex multi-district matters and individual cases
• Experience with drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and taking depositions
• Courtroom advocacy skills

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
