Corporate Counsel- Litigation
Duties: Actively manage all phases of complex US litigation (national, regional, and local litigation), as well as certain international litigations and disputes, in multiple venues and across multiple substantive practice areas. This includes conducting witness interviews, gathering documents for discovery, reviewing pleadings and motions, engaging in settlement discussions, briefing relevant business partners on matters and supporting outside counsel (as needed) in preparation of a matter for trial. Consult and advise business units on potential liability exposures and litigation risk mitigation strategies and solutions. Assist in management of internal litigation function, including preparing, tracking, and reporting on litigation statuses, managing budgets, and assisting with discovery procedures. Provide advice on the legal aspects of data privacy issues that arise in the conduct of the Company’s business. Stay abreast of current legal developments that may impact the Company’s litigation and business strategies. Manage relationships with external firms to control outside legal costs on litigation matters. Assist with handling of issues related to data privacy in conjunction with outside counsel when necessary. Manage company’s response to third party subpoenas.
