Job Overview: A leading national law firm based in Washington, D.C., seeks an associate attorney specializing in healthcare regulatory matters with a focus on life sciences. The successful candidate will engage with complex regulatory, coverage, and reimbursement issues affecting prominent organizations across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology sectors.
Duties:
Provide regulatory guidance to life sciences and healthcare industry clients.
Advise on reimbursement, coding, and healthcare coverage complexities.
Offer strategic insights into major healthcare programs including Medicaid, Medicare, 340B drug pricing, ACA implementation, and legislative updates such as the Inflation Reduction Act.
Support transactional activities, drafting and negotiating healthcare agreements and regulatory compliance documents.
Collaborate closely with attorneys across practice groups to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
Identify potential compliance risks and develop innovative solutions to address evolving regulatory frameworks.
Requirements:
2-4 years relevant experience in healthcare regulatory law, especially involving life sciences clientele.
Substantial familiarity with U.S. healthcare systems and associated regulatory practices.
Knowledgeable about healthcare program regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, ACA, and recent legislative enactments.
Proven ability in addressing coverage, coding, and reimbursement regulations.
Exceptional research, analytical, and communication capabilities.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of independent problem-solving.
Prior experience in governmental agencies or regulatory bodies is advantageous but not mandatory.
Must possess current, active Bar licensure in DC in good standing.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
Licensed Attorney; admission to practice law in the jurisdiction applicable to Washington, D.C.
