Job Overview:
A San Antonio, TX-based law firm is seeking a driven and compassionate Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its expanding legal practice. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney aiming to build hands-on litigation and client advocacy experience within a collaborative legal team. The role involves direct client engagement, representation in immigration courts, and contributions to a dynamic immigration practice with ample room for career advancement.

Duties:

  • Provide detailed consultations to clients, explaining immigration processes and evaluating strategic legal options

  • Represent clients in immigration court, including detained and non-detained removal defense cases

  • Draft and file immigration petitions and applications, including family-based and humanitarian matters

  • Conduct legal intakes at detention centers

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court testimony

  • Research, draft, and submit legal briefs for diverse immigration proceedings

  • Coordinate with government agencies, law enforcement, and community groups on immigration-related issues

  • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure the timely progression of assigned files

  • Review applications and filings for accuracy and completeness

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently

  • Commitment to high-quality client service and a collaborative team environment

  • Willingness to travel to detention centers when required

  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active law license in any U.S. state or territory

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and verbal advocacy skills

  • Comfortable working independently and in team settings

  • Familiarity with immigration court procedures and USCIS processes

  • Proficiency in legal case management software is a plus
