Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join its Business Restructuring and Special Situations team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a mix of complex financial restructurings, including both in-court and out-of-court matters. The role includes exposure to both litigation and transactional aspects, with an emphasis on high-value domestic and international distressed scenarios. Ideal for candidates interested in a dynamic practice at the intersection of corporate insolvency and cross-border financial matters.

Duties:

• Support and manage matters involving Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 bankruptcy proceedings

• Assist in out-of-court debt restructurings and workouts

• Collaborate on both transactional and litigation-driven restructuring engagements

• Analyze cross-border insolvency matters and advise on international restructuring issues

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and other court filings

• Participate in client communications, negotiations, and strategy development

• Prepare for and attend court hearings as appropriate

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 years of relevant restructuring or financial insolvency legal experience

• Demonstrated experience with both litigation and transactional aspects of restructuring

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Familiarity with cross-border and international restructuring issues preferred

• Bankruptcy court clerkship experience is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California (or eligibility to waive in)
