A law firm seeks a dedicated Family Law Attorney to join their team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The successful candidate will provide compassionate legal advice and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support cases. Duties

• Represent clients in family law cases such as divorce, custody, visitation, and support.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings.
• Negotiate settlements to achieve favorable outcomes while minimizing court intervention.
• Maintain appropriate contact with clients during each stage of the case.
• Manage case files efficiently within the law office's case management system.
• Prepare for and appear in court proceedings as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal issues.
• Research relevant case law and statutes to support client cases.
• Maintain and increase knowledge of relevant laws and cases affecting family law in Virginia.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar and in good standing.
• Proven experience practicing family law or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent research skills.
• Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents.
• Ability to handle sensitive client situations with empathy and professionalism.

Education

• Doctorate (Required)

Certifications

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar
