Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop the Workers' Compensation practice within a dynamic and growing plaintiff-focused firm.

Duties

• Manage a full California Applicant Workers' Compensation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Appear before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
• Conduct depositions, hearings, MSCs, and trials.
• Evaluate and develop litigation strategy.
• Negotiate settlements.
• Maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with Personal Injury and Employment Law departments on overlapping matters.
• Assist in developing workflows, policies, and best practices for the department.
• Help recruit and mentor future support staff as the department grows.

Requirements

• Active member of the California State Bar.
• Minimum 3 years of California Applicant Workers' Compensation experience preferred.
• Experience independently managing a litigation caseload.
• Strong negotiation and courtroom skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Exceptional client service skills.
• Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience using case management software is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California State Bar membership.
